Learn About Our Boat
The Boat is a 22 foot Custom Weld Cobra SE with 225 horsepower (fast) Honda outboard. The motor hangs off an offshore bracket, so the entire length of the boat is usable. There is no cutout for the kicker motor and waves cannot break over the back (bow) of the boat. This is the safest and most fuel efficient design for Lake Tahoe. The 225 horsepower motor is large for a typical boat of this design, but we are boating at 6260 feet (1900 meters) and the lack of air pressure reduces the real horsepower of any internal combustion engine.
The trolling motor is a 9.9 horsepower Honda that also hangs off the offshore bracket. The kicker is a manual start and must be manually lowered into the water, typical for this style of boat. But then it gets way less typical when we turn on electronics.
The boat is basic with some critical exceptions for comfort. It does have Air-Ride tractor trailer seats for your comfort, so when you hit waves, the seats will bounce with the waves. The wind picks up in summer afternoons. If this happens, the comfort seating is awesome and unique for this style of boat.
The boat is spacious and has a large fishing deck, or dance floor, for when the fishing gets slow. The boat is a cab forward design and has more room for people to sit in the back. We can also get you out of the sun with a bimini top or full top.
We have a bluetooth stereo on board with outstanding speakers. The boat also has a depth finder, chart plotter and TR-1 remote control. The chartplotter is going to come up when you power on the electronics, you will see paths to the popular spots on the lake, including: my fishing spots, restaurants, bars, and gas stations. I have loaded in GPS way points for restaurants, bars, and gas stations around the lake. The chartplotter will also keep you out of trouble with rocks and bring you right back to the dock. The Tahoe Keys can be confusing, but it won’t be hard getting you back, you just follow my chartplotter back… this is unique to this boat.
