Salmon fishing in northern california

King Salmon

The boat is outfitted with all of the gear and tackle necessary to target king salmon in the ocean, delta, or Sacramento River. The boat has two canon digi-troll downriggers so that you can troll in the ocean. The windsock comes into play when mooching for salmon in the ocean or San Francisco Bay. Our boat comes equipped with all of the lures and weight combinations typically used for Northern California salmon fishing. You will also be given locations where salmon are usually caught, from Bodega Bay to downtown Sacramento.

Sea bass fishing in Northern California

Striped Bass

Stripped bass fishing begins in early March and extends through the beginning of June in the Sacramento River and Sacramento River delta. Our boat has a mud anchor that will secure the boat, even in fast moving water, to a mud bottom. Striped bass are usually targeted using trolled baits or fishing directly on the bottom with live bate. You will be provided all of the lurers and rigging to affectively target striped bass. We will also provide you locations where striped bass are generally caught.

Halibut fishing in Northern California

Halibut

Halibut season generally begins in early June and goes through July. Fishing for halibut is generally done by drifting live bait, usually an anchovy, across the mud flats. Our boat is equipped with a wind sock that will slow the boat’s drift in the wind so that the anchovy looks more natural. We will show you the locations for outstanding halibut fishing and help you avoid the southwest winds that can plague your success. A second way to target halibut is to troll a live or dead anchovy behind a flasher. These tools will also be provided. Trolling with anchovies may lead to strikes on otherwise slow days.

Sturgeon fishing in Northern California

Sturgeon

The boat is equipped with a full top to keep the rain off the intrepid. The secret weapon for sturgeon is the balance rod holder. These rod holders will let the anchored fisherman see the most subtle strikes from these ancient giants. The San Francisco Bay, the Sacramento River, the San Pablo Bay, and the California Delta are the best places to catch sturgeon. When fishing for sturgeon in these areas, we recommend using nightcrawlers for bait.
